Why India could not become a communist country ?
Dalip Singh Wasan, Advocate.
All the basic conditions were available in India on the basis of which India could have turned a Communist Country. But it could not and under the compelling circumstances were are still there from where we started in 1947. The basic conditions which are required for establishing a communist country are available in India. Here in India most of the people are illiterate, poor, unemployed, houseless, beggars, wearing rags, living in huts and mud houses and they have got no savings for rainy days. And it is on record that here in India people are divided in poor and the rich and it is also on record that the rich are powerful and even governments of the day are siding with them. We have noted here that rich and powerful people are keeping themselves away from the poor and often poor and weak people are discriminated. All entries even in constitution of India giving equal rights to the poor are fake and are not in operation. The poor and weak remained there from where they started in 1947.
The Communists entered in India in the twenties and started establishing here. But in spite of all their efforts, they could reach all those who were in need of establishing a communist country. We can examine the following points on this point:-
(1) The Communists do not believe in the existence of God. They should have adopted existence of God though in a different manner. They could have told the people they all are creation of God and therefore, they all are children of God and God never desired that there should be discrimination on this earth. God wanted equality and equal share of all the assets of the nation. They should have told the people at large that their government would bring equality in the country and all those who are possessing wealth which they snatched away from the common people shall be taken back, deposited in state exchequer and shall be utilized for the people who earned this wealth. They should told the people that God never wants that there should be discrimination and therefore, the communist government shall see that the will of God is fulfilled.
(2) They should have competent people in the party as leaders who could have a reach to the people from the bottom. It is no use of raising slogans against the rich and the powerful. The people must be given right direction. The communist could not reach the people in a right manner.
(3) After independence the communists should have brought their own constitution which should have been placed before the people telling them that if their government comes in power, they shall operate that constitution. Today if we ask the communists to tell us as what they shall do if they get a chance to govern the country, they simply say that first of all they should be given power. this is no answer because communists in this country do not know what shall be the abc of communism in India. They must prepare their own constitution and must come forward telling the people the basic of communists in India. They must tell the people through which means they shall be writing off poverty, illiteracy, unemployment, how they would provide houses to all and how they would stop begging from this country. They must tell the people through which means they shall take back all the assets from the rich and the powerful and how they shall deposit the same in the state exchequer. They have not come forward as to how they shall take all the deposits in secret accounts maintained in foreign banks in foreign countries and how they shall ask all the people uptodate to give accounts of their assets and sources through which they could collect all these assets. They must tell the people. The slogans which they are raising before the people would not work because such slogans are also present in manifestos of other political parties in India.
(4) They could not find out the concepts of communism from the Indian books and works of scholars, saints and the people of India which are more effective than theories of communism established in other countries. Most of the communists in India are translating the principles of communism laid down in other countries and they are trying to follow and implement those principles in India. When we have got so many such principles with us, we should apply Indian thoughts first and then in due course we could have introduced foreign thoughts. If the communists could not do that in the past, they must try to locate similar thoughts which were laid down earlier than those thoughts laid down by the founders of communism in the world and we should try to apply those thought as per local situations.
(4) We should try to locate all acts, laws and other provisions in law books which are not in tune with communism and we must bring an alternative thesis on those subjects so that when communism comes in India, the people could adopt new laws because the present governments are following those laws which had been framed and acted upon by the imperialists and when those imperialists were trying to keep the people as slaves. These old laws are still giving out bad smell and when those are operated upon, they lose the sense of democracy. The communists must bring out new concepts of law which shall be applicable in India through which we would be able to bring equality in India because at present there is something wrong and because of which only poor people suffer and if we conduct a survey of our jails, we shall find that all rich and powerful people could escape and all poor and weak people are deposited in jails to suffer.
(5)The communists in India must join and they should not be divided in different parties. They must change their head periodically so that new blood could be introduced.
(6) They must prepare books in the local languages and the literature so prepared should reach every person in the area. Try that concept of God is present in all the books because people of India cannot part with God and they want presence of God in every work.
These are the some of minimum requirements, which should be taken in hand immediately without any further delay and all the people should be given information that the communist shall establish and new type of communism in India which shall accept the concept of God in all works. If these measures are adopted, then there are chances that communism shall be established in India and people shall get justice. The present system could not bring all that which the people desired when they were fighting for their independence.
